Celebrating 75 Years of Serving Southern Nevada

Facebook Cover - 75th Anniversary 010226

Clark County Credit Union (CCCU) is proud to celebrate 75 incredible years of serving our members and community!

It all began with just 25 employees from Clark County government, who came together to create a financial institution dedicated to helping one another achieve their financial goals. Clark County Credit Union officially began doing business on January 4, 1951.

Our very first “branch” was a small wooden table, chair, and cashbox located just outside the evidence vault in the County building in downtown Las Vegas. The branch opened only at noon on Fridays and closed at the end of the day when everything was locked away until the next week.

From those humble beginnings, CCCU has grown into a trusted, member-owned credit union with over 59,000 members and six branch locations. Every milestone has been made possible by our members, both new and long-standing, who believe in the credit union difference.

As we celebrate this remarkable anniversary, we want to thank every member for choosing CCCU and for being part of our story. For 75 years, we’ve been honored to serve you, and we look forward to being here for many more generations to come. There are exciting things to come – stay tuned for more information on our future plans in the coming weeks!

Next time you stop into a branch, pick up our exclusive 75th anniversary sticker and a classic CCCU mini piggy bank to commemorate our celebration. *

Joy G. has been a proud member of Clark County Credit Union since 1980. She first joined CCCU while working at University Medical Center, when a complimentary checking account was offered to employees. Like many of her colleagues at the time, Joy chose CCCU and has remained a loyal member ever since. “We have been consistently satisfied with the services offered by Clark County Credit Union,” she shared.

Joy spent 45 years working as a registered nurse, a career built on trust, dedication, and service-values she feels strongly align with her experience at CCCU. When asked what sets the Credit Union apart, Joy immediately pointed to the dependable customer service. “Customer service is consistently available and ready to assist with any issues,” she said. “Prompt fraud alerts are provided, and there is no charge for checking accounts, which really makes a difference.”

Joy frequently recommends Clark County Credit Union to others, noting the sense of security she has always felt banking there. She also highlighted the exceptional staff at the North Decatur and Tenaya branches. “Their customer service is excellent,” Joy added. “The branch manager, Sharwani, and the tellers are highly responsive and professional.”

Over the years, CCCU has supported Joy through many important financial milestones. “I financed my first car through CCCU, obtained mortgages for both my first and current home, and even found my financial adviser through the Credit Union,” she explained. Today, Joy and her husband conduct all of their personal and business banking with CCCU and have shared their membership experience together since 1980.

Outside of work, Joy enjoys traveling and cruising, making the most of her time exploring new destinations.

Thank you, Joy, for being such a loyal and valued member of Clark County Credit Union!
